Happy Feet Update - For Rotary year 2011-2012 to date, 82 pairs of shoes have been delivered at a total cost of $1,147.

Program - Our speaker was Lisa Priestman from the American Cancer Society (ACS).  Lisa educated us on the multi-faceted mission of the ACS, including:  Cancer Research (they are the #1 private funder); Education (35,000 books on prevention, early detection & treatment); Advocacy (raise awareness and lobby for federal $); Patient Services (volunteers provide many valuable services).

Lisa also advertised the ACS Relay for Life of North Las Vegas, 11-12 May 2012.  The relay is a community gathering where everyone (even Rotarians!) can participate in the fight against cancer.  Participants light hundreds of candles to remember those lost to cancer, and honor those who have survived the disease.

February 10th – Special “Appreciation” morning meeting at PDGC (Program – The Rotary Foundation by Chris Calligan).

Marble Drawing – Fred Thull’s ticket was drawn by our speaker, but he didn’t hit the jackpot!
